Re: Forelimb punching/kicking, Bears v Chimps

A declawed dog could still punch though.

Most of the pain I have suffered from my dogs' limbs involves them Stomping on me so I could see them using that via Brawling more than the usual Kick.

Re: Dodging onto your back more than 1 hex away to avoid chest/neck/head kicks.

Cool. Do you remind people of this any time they show you a kung fu movie? I'm aware that the Bucks and Flip practice this ahead of time to minimize the chances of Flip actually getting his face...

Tunneling (Slower)

using Powers 85, if you took paid 6 points to get Tunneling (Slow) at 2 yards per minute, -70% worth of limitations could reduce this to 2 points and reasonable limits on the power for animals (from...

Re: Forelimb punching/kicking, Bears v Chimps

Their claws should probably be reflected as some type of advantage, but it being a damage bonus to a blunt attack (which increases knockback... blunt trauma...) is probably the wrong approach.

adjustment to face / skull DR cost

B47's "Partial" limitation for DR bases the limitation value on the penalty needed to hit a location. This was originally a simple issue of -50% for face and -70% for skull.

MA137 made the face a...

Slow-healing as an optional DR limitation?

Lost DR being recovered in 1 week per point is a limitation introduced in the "Ferocious Beard" on page 17 of Dungeon Fantasy Power-Ups. We're never told how much it is worth. I really liked the idea...

Re: Dodging onto your back more than 1 hex away to avoid chest/neck/head kicks.

If we could move past the "pro wrestling is predetermined and choreographed" (smark here) and talk about this.

Falling down frequently impractical in many fights because of the posture penalties...

Re: how come "All Out Concentrate" / "Concentrate" limits cannot combine?

Presently you can either be 1 of 2 things:

1) a single All-Out Concentrate to turn something on

2) a series of normal (keep your defenses) Concentrates to maintain something

A single all-out...

Re: Bonus thrust damage from yards/movement

I always figured the hex grid had some flexibility to it, like if you were trying to represent people lining up side-by-side facing the same direction without anyone standing in front of the other.

Re: Telepathy and vague surroundings-awareness while unconscious?

Backlash: Paralysis already brings 30 down to 6 points, but I guess if I could start with a cheaper base cost of Immunity that it could bring it down further. Considering the feature was so minor...

Re: Forelimb punching/kicking, Bears v Chimps

The "why do wolves bite?" thing probably should be answered statistically if possible though... B457 stats the "Large Guard Dog" as the only dog, Sharp Teeth (B91) upgrades thrust-1 crushing to...

Re: Forelimb punching/kicking, Bears v Chimps

Doesn't apply to rear kicks though, meaning chimps retain a back kick which is stronger than their punch, and also doesn't fix the chimps having range 1 kicks since they're our size level (kinda...

Re: Bonus thrust damage from yards/movement

I guess what I'm wondering is, since when A moves 2y/s toward B, it could be a matter of perspective that the distance is narrowing between them 2/ys so if you perceived the world as centred around...

Re: Dodging onto your back more than 1 hex away to avoid chest/neck/head kicks.

Sprawling Parry (TG40, not Sprawling MA119) another last consideration. I know tThis seems weird for a dodge against a strike when this is a parry against a grappling maneuver, so here is the thought...

Dodging onto your back more than 1 hex away to avoid chest/neck/head kicks.

I basically got thinking of this due to pro wrestler Flip Gordon's crazy avoidance against Young Bucks' superkicks on Nov19 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wow5wgkdpeQ) and Dec 15...

souping up Lame: Missing Legs (one leg) folk

B141 says that you require either crutches or a peg leg to stand, walk or kick.

I am able to balance on one leg, I imagine some people with one leg are able to do that to. Is there a way to limit...

Forelimb punching/kicking, Bears v Chimps

B53 has the 'No Physical Attack' and 'Foot Manipulators' disadvantages, worth -5/-3 per arm respectively. The latter is explicitly a Temporary Disadvantage, and Extra Arms 2 (Temporary Disadvantage:...

Chinks as DR limitations?

Some people have previously proposed designing worn armor as a DR advantage. For example this 2011 thread about magically-appearing armor (this one lacks Gadget limitations, I don't think it can be...

Bonus thrust damage from yards/movement

B366 gives this for the Stop Thrust (+1 / 2 yards), I'm wondering if anyone has ever broadened this via house rules (or if maybe layer books broadened this) where yards/movement gave a damage bonus...

Re: Anything special for barefooted PCs?

I'm wondering if there have been any scientific studies of how this works on the cellular level. Like if there's a difference between training the feet to accept greater overall pressure/compression...

Re: how come "All Out Concentrate" / "Concentrate" limits cannot combine?

It's the closest model I've found so far :) Saving points or representing unique concepts (needing to walk round concentrating defenselessly instead of concentrating with defenses up) are part of...

Re: Unhealing (FP only) in 4e?

Unless of course you suck their FP to -1, which causes 1 HP of damage, unless of course DR protected against HP loss due to negative FP.

Re: Unhealing (FP only) in 4e?

True. Even if you avoid extra effort, you might miss sleep, or be exposed to certain temperatures... or even get in a fight (seems you expend 1 FP minimum no matter how light the combat is) or...
